Families, Families, Families !
Two years ago Suzanne and I set out to make a book that was missing from our daughter's book shelf. A book that portrays all kinds of families in a funny but inclusive way. This week it is being published by Random House in the US, Canada, UK and Australia!
I'm so excited that we are finally able to share it with you.

RotB - Field set
More treasures from the workshop. While the field was one of the plainer sets in 'Room on the Broom,' I've always loved its clear and simple shape language.
Klaus' and Katja's team actually built only two of the haystacks. Later the set was extended with miniature sets and Tobias Trebeljahr's amazing matte-painting skills.

RotB - Bird backstory storyboard
In the book the dog describes himself as 'keen' and the frog as 'clean'. The bird however states that she is 'as green as can be' . While we were looking for a way to connect the green colour to her personality, we noticed one of Axel Scheffler's illustration that showed the bird peeking out from a tree hole as the bow comes flying by.
We thought it would be nice to explain how the bird ended up alone in this tree hole and came up with her little backstory.
